Lecture taken by Amita Bhatnagar , She is currently Director, American Water Works Association India, she shared her experience in the urban water development sector. She discussed state of art designs of water treatment plants and waste water treatment plants. She elaborated on the strategies needed to be adopted to reduce non-revenue water in urban sector. Water loss detection itself is a challenging process, replacing old infrastructure remains an even greater challenge in the urban sector. The students interacted with the expert and wanted to know more about projects which could involve students who could work on community based surveillance systems for the water utility provider.
